Wes Butters studied film and television at Salford University but in the end made a name for himself in radio as the ninth host of Radio 1’s UK Top 40 chart, where he also covered the breakfast and drive-time shows.
Wes is a high-profile voiceover: The Brit Awards (ITV1), Top of the Pops (BBC1), An Audience with Take That (ITV1), An Audience with Lionel Ritchie (ITV1), ASDA’s Christmas campaigns and countless albums.
Whilst presenting Galaxy Manchester’s breakfast show he won silver at the Sony Awards and received an Arqiva nomination for Best UK Presenter. Wes dramatically increased listening figures and took the breakfast show to a new record high so in June 2007 he decided to focus on other projects.
Kenneth Williams Unseen is Wes’ first book (in the shops October 2008) and is published by HarperCollins. Prior to this, his two-part documentary on Williams, commissioned last year by Radio 4, will be broadcast in April. |
