Lucy studied psychology, sociology and politics and achieved a 2.1 at Cambridge University. Lucy imagined a career following the exploits of politicians not celebrities.
A stint helping Martin Bell fight his Tatton seat in the 1997 election only served to strengthen her determination to follow this path.
Following a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism she worked as a news reader and reporter for various radio stations.
She then worked on the BBC's Daily Politics Show during the 2005 election and secured a role as a reporter and presenter at Granada News in Manchester.
After a couple of years she went freelance, writing and presenting a documentary for Granada's regional programmes as well as reporting for their political programme (this included an investigation into gangs in New York for which she visited a prison interviewing gang members and touring the Bronz with an ex gang leader).
Sky Arts came next with a role as presenter and producer on the channel's first Hay on Sky series with Mariella Fostrup. Lucy presented daily highlights from the festival as well as producing daily colour pieces with comedian Rory McGrath.
When she moved back to London she started reporting for London Tonight and was then offered the position as Entertainment Correspondent. This job has thrown up some fantastic opportunities; she reports live from the red carpet for all the capital's film premieres, she's had kisses from Will Smith, hugs from Hugh Jackman and George Clooney said 'yes' when she proposed to him.
She recently co-presented the programme's Christmas London light switch on - taking the viewers around 5 different venues speaking to Colin Firth, Spandau Ballet and Bob Hoskins.
She writes all her own scripts, is a very competent live performer and can edit her own pieces using Avid.
Lucy also writes, presents and edits a daily showbiz bulletin on ITV2 and presents London Tonight on occasions.
Her dream assignment was being sent to LA to cover the Oscars where she secured the first interview with Danny Boyle at his exclusive Slumdog Millionaire party!!
