Jason Cundy

Jason is a former English football defender. He is presenting ' You're on Sky Sports ' every Wednesday and Saturday night.

He began his career at Stamford Bridge and went on to make 57 first-team appearances for Chelsea, before making a switch to North London to Spurs for £750,000 in 1992. He soon ensured his name was registered in the annals of history with an extraordinary goal against Ipswich. In an attempt to kick the ball 40 yards from goal, he slipped and managed a wind-assisted effort that ended up flying over 'keeper Craig Forrest and into the back of the net. The goal was captured live on Sky Sports and put Spurs 1–0 up, in a match that would finish 1-1. With the East Anglia outfit still seething at the goal, Ipswich decided to sign the centre back in November 1996.

During his career, Jason played for Chelsea (1988-92, 41 league appearances), Tottenham Hotspur ( loan in 1992, 1992-November 96, with 28 games), Crystal Palace (one month-loan, 1995), Bristol City (30-day loan, 1996), Ipswich Town (after a loan, November 1996-99) and Portsmouth.

He was forced to retire in 2000 due to injuries, and subsequently became a presenter on talkSPORT, regularly appearing with Ian Danter and Alvin Martin on Football First, between 12:00pm – 5:00pm. He also occasionally co-hosted Evening Kick-Off, subbing in for any regular member, while appearing regularly as a pundit on Chelsea TV.

Tragedy was to strike in February 1997 when Jason was diagnosed with testicular cancer, but he showed his true colours and came out fighting. After recovering from chemotherapy, he defied the odds to make his first-team comeback with The Tractor Boys the following season what a legend!

Jason has since gone on to be a high profile voice in the battle against testicular cancer and is the patron for the leading charity researcher into male cancer, Everyman, which encourages young men to check themselves in the groin region as much as possible.

Jason has appeared on Ready Steady Cook alongside fellow footballer Graeme Le Saux. In 2010 dancing to Men in Black he appeared on the BBC Let's Dance for Sport Relief with ex-England goalkeeper Peter Shilton and was featured as the main pundit on a sports prediction show entitled ' Scoreboard ' aired weekly on Facebook.

He remains a loyal Chelsea fan to this day and sometimes shows this allegiance when he is a pundit on Blues games. When commentating on Chelsea TV, whenever the Blues score a late winner, or in an important game, Jason often screams out "YES!" loudly.

Jason is currently presenting ' You're on Sky Sports ' every Wednesday and Saturday night.

In 2011 Jason appeared weekly on facebook’s new football TV programme ‘Scoreboard’.
