David Gest, much-loved television star and one of the world's greatest entertainment producers, teams up with MPC.
David Gest went into ITV’s "I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!" and came out a national treasure. The multimillionaire American showbiz impresario’s spirited behaviour and one-liners (“Weren’t you at my wedding?” he asked a black widow spider) have endeared him to the general public. Since then, David has become a firm favourite with UK television audiences.
David’s recent TV appearances include a star turn on the Christmas Special of “Celebrity Come Dine With Me”, which was a huge ratings success for Channel 4, the highest in the history of the series, as well as an appearance on ITV1’s “Celebrity All Star Impressions”, where he appeared as Tom Jones singing the massive hit “It’s Not Unusual” backed by JLS. His four-hour MTV/VH1 Christmas Special entitled “David Gest’s Top 40 Christmas Crackers” ran throughout December on VH1, VH1 Classics, Viva and MTV. He also hosted another four-hour special on MTV entitled “Michael Jackson’s All-Time Top 40 Greatest Videos”.
His 24 date nationwide tour of “David Gest... My Life!” was a sell-out success, featuring a stellar line-up of soul legends including The Temptations Review featuring Grammy-Award Winning lead singer Dennis Edwards, Ben E. King, Percy Sledge and Russell Thompkins, Jr and The Stylistics, to name a few! David Gest has the distinction of producing the highest rated musical special in television history, “Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration, The Solo Years” which was seen by 44 million people (one in every four households in the United States watched the show). In addition, it was also the No.1 musical television special in seven other countries. It was seen again in the UK on Five last Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, where it was one of the channel’s top-rated shows.
David Gest has produced international concert spectaculars and television specials throughout the world. David produced the American Cinema Awards for eleven years and the International Achievement In Arts Awards for four years. To date, David Gest has produced more than 100 shows throughout the world. He has also raised millions of dollars for various charities. He has appeared on the covers of magazines and newspapers throughout the world.
He is currently preparing two major specials for television, one a documentary on his recent tour and the other entitled “David Gest: The Real Michael Jackson”, which features interviews with Tito Jackson, Michael’s elder sister Rebbie Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Paul Anka, Dionne Warwick and many, many more.
