Danann has been hosting television shows for many years both in England and Ireland, starting off on young people’s programmes Echo, Sticky and F.I.S.H. on RTE television in Ireland and eventually being called to move to the United Kingdom to host big and popular shows such as Select on MTV, Fame Academy/ Celebrity Fame Academy on BBC and Pepsi Max Downloaded and The Friday Night Project on Channel 4. Danann is also a regular contributor on the BBC “The Most….” shows.
Danann has a wide ranging appeal that comes over in the great variety of shows he has fronted: Scope, a science and technology show for teenagers, No Experienced Required, a life style entertainment show giving people a second chance in life, Today on 3 Live, a downloadable music entertainment show, Pop Will Shoot Itself, a witty and sarcastic look at pop promos, Global Beats, a music show highlighting the impressive range of world music and he soon he will be seen on the Travel Channel exploring the more exotic locations one can travel to.
His talents don’t finish there though. Danann used to host the early Morning Show on XFM, London’s number 1 alternative music radio station, has narrated many entertainment shows such as No Experienced Required and One Thing To Do Before You Die and voiced many commercials for MTV, Guinness, Siemens mobile phones and Ariel washing up powder.
He is also a filmmaker: directing, producing and editing many short films and music promos. He recently finished directing Team Sleep (Foireann Codladh) a €60,000 Irish Film Board funded short, which he also co-wrote. It is expected to premier at the Cork International Film Festival in the Autumn. His previous film Dark. Bright. Red. is international award winning and Danann has been short listed for awards and funding from a diverse range of bodies such as the Boston International Film Festival, The British Director’s Guild, The UK Film Council, Film London and Film 4.
Danann is also an actor has appeared most famously as Irish traveler rogue, Connor in Channel 4’s highly successful teen drama series Hollyoaks and in Wannabes, the BBC’s original venture in internet drama.
Having studied, at various universities, Irish Folklore, English Literature, Film & Television Production, Graphic Media Design and Acting, Danann has available to him a wide ranging knowledge that has been put to good use when interviewing celebrities, actors and music stars such as Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Peter Jackson, Jessica Simpson, Destiny’s Child, Kylie Minogue, Outkast, 50 Cent, LL Cool, Dave Navarro and Linkin Park.
